I have seen some great artists in the 31 singers at the Fury Fest 2003. They were all very very good. But some stick out more than others.
K D Kane, who is pictured below, was one that really stood out. Garry Slade is an incredible singer with a style all his own. Rob Dee is famed for his impersonation of Billy Fury - he really keeps the idol alive for us. Russ Dee gives brilliant renditions of Billy's music. Ray Shenton, the compere of the Fury Fest is a fountain of information (and a terrific singer). Johnny Storm made a huge impression. Tony Hart puts everything he's got into his performance and of course we must not forget Laura and her young sister Emily. Laura has a fantastic voice for one so young and to hear her sing in harmony with her younger sister is a joy.
The thing is, you need to go and see them for yourself and prove me right. Remember Rock'n'Roll is not just fast music, some of the best Ballads have come out of Rock'n'Roll. And of course some of the greatest singers came out of Rock'n'Roll too.
I could not end this page without saying what a fantastic main act we had in VINCE EAGER and ROCKOLA.Here is a man that has been singing Rock'n'Roll since the 50s and still at the top.
The only thing to say about Vince is that he is getting better at it as the years go by. Well done mate and don't stop now.
