My view on music.
Rock'n'Roll and The Musicman
Life and Music

Everybody loves music no matter what type it is. The reason for this is that we can all connect our music to different times in our life. For example, I can connect the mid fifties music with my younger life growing up. Late fifties and early sixties with Rock'n'Roll and motorbikes. The early to mid sixties with pop, mods, music and scooters - I was a Mod for a while myself. Late sixties and seventies with flower power and settling down. Now I know everybody can do this - there is always music that you can associate with different times in your life whatever your preference. That's the power of Music. So don't try to hide it away, enjoy it for what it is. Great sounds to make your history with. That's why the classics are sung by so many different artists. We have lost so many of our favourite artists over the years and they all had their own style. I, for one, miss them all. But I am thankful that they live on in their music

Rock'n'Roll

If you listen carefully to the beat of the songs of today and right back to the Fifties, you will find that most of them have the same beat, four beats to the bar. This was first created by Mr Chuck Berry and adopted by nearly all pop singers since. It is the very essence of Rock'n'Roll - its lifeblood. If Rock'n'Roll in any form is your type of music then it will never leave you.I ask only one thing for you to think about - "Why have so many great artists over the years been so popular, it's not just because they are great singers, but also that the great songs they have sung can be associated with our own times. It doesn't matter who sings our favourite songs, we will always associate a place and time with them.
So go on and Rock till you drop, as they say.

Music, life and Friends
The internet and Music

The great thing about the net is it can bring us all together across the world. Be it music or anything else, we can share it all with other people.

I have now got some great friends in Ohio, USA. That was just because of music to start with. Rock on Chris and Steve Welker, Long live the USA. I also have a good friend in Australia, Peter from The Secrets rock group. Rock'n'Roll and any type of music can bring people together from everywhere.

So never let it be said ' that Rock'n'Roll is a bad thing'.

Motorbikes and DJBmusicman

Back in the 50s we were part of the Triumph Owners Motorcycle Club. In turn we met a lot of great people in the motorcycle industry. My biggest problem was that I was a rebel and loved to go to places like the Ace Cafe on the North Circular Rd. Unfortunately there were a few tragic accidents there - speed kills - many of the accidents happened around the iron bridge and railway bridges. Someone had to take the rap for this and the police blamed it on the Ace Cafe as it was a meeting place for motorbikers and it got the name as The Ton-up Boys meeting place. This was partly true, only some of the members could do over the ton then. I did it once and that was enough for me on a road like that. You had to be mad to do it and back then - I was. Then there was the Half-Way House on the A12 Southend Rd. Another great meeting place for motorbike riders of that day.And of course we all met at the coast resorts. The biggest difference of the 50s and 60s is that there was not the same amount of traffic on the road as there is today. Those were the days of no helmets and fast bikes. But even so there were not as many accidents on the road involving motorbikes as there are today. I learned the hard way in the school of hard knocks, but I also learned the right way to ride and the right clothes to wear - safety is even more important today. But life was great then on the road. I am a Rocker at heart and with always will be one. "Thank God". Here are some pictures of me and my own on motorbikes. Notice that there is no age limit or sex discrimination!. Just Like Rock'n'Roll.
